If you haven’t been to East Austin in awhile, it’s high time you make a trip there. Over the past year East Austin has had many new shops, restaurants and other businesses blossom. We recently spent a short afternoon on the Eastside and want to share a few of our favorite new (and old!) places.

Domy Books is one of our all time favorite Austin stores and has thrived on the Eastside for the past three years. Be sure to check out their amazing collection of gorgeous reads and indie zines. Their current art exhibit (shown above) is not to be missed.

Busy Being is a tiny little gem tucked inside the back of Domy books. This pint sized shop features jewelry, art and apparel by some super talented folks. We especially love the Beatrice Valenzuela handmade shoes. You can read a really great post about the shop over on Poppytalk.

Cenote is just a short walk from Domy an Busy Being. This new coffee shop is housed inside a historic Austin home.

Featuring a wide selection of tea, coffee, beer, wine and eats-Cenote is a great place to spend an hour or two. We love the laid back atmoshpere and vast amount of outdoor seating.

We hope to feature many more of our favorite spots around town, so be sure to check back here at our blog.
